Okay, I understand the proposal more clearly now. I feel that there is
something missing, though. There does not seem to be a way for the user
to assign a keyboard shortcut to a non-standard menu entry. For example,
say that a program has no keyboard shortcut for the menu entry "Fiddle".
The user wants one; how can it be done?
The reason that I think that this should be done in the DEFAULT.SYS file
is that it is more convenient for the user (setting the keyboard shortcuts
all at the same time) and easier to implement for the programmer (only one
parsing routine is required).
(This may be addressed by the idea of having application group codes,
but the proposal is a little hazy on just how. What would prevent one
program from using the same unique codes that another program is
using, for example?)
